This is my Papa’s favorite dress (of course it’s blue). Can Papa stay home every Friday?!I’m having so much fun!
Oops. Too much fun. I spit up on Mama and my pretty dress.
I love to pose.

she loves her papa so much

Last night Finley took a late nap so we weren’t surprised when her bedtime came and went. The three of us ended up hanging out in our bed, where we were blessed with her chatter, snuggles, and smiles. She spent nearly 10 minutes exploring Papa’s beard, perhaps she too wonders if there is stuff hiding in there! For those who find interest in her babbling (mimi) there is a video below…

4 month check up

Today Finley turns 4 months old and to celebrate she got her next round of shots. Like before, she took it like a champ. She is now weighing in at 14 lbs 10 ounces (75th percentile) and is 26 inches long (95th percentile). All around her growth is looking great. Her doctor was surpised to see that Fin is sporting teeth now and she offered advice on how to deal with the biting issue (lately Finley has been biting me and when I gasp in pain she laughs). Her suggestion: “try not to react”. Um, that is asking A LOT…

I’m a big girl!

I have no clue what is about to happen…
Such a brave girl…
Shots? What shots?

first valentine’s day

Finley had a hot date for Valentine’s Day. Her buddy Logan came over to play.

Finley got dressed up in her valentine outfit (and wore jeans for the first time). She made him a card..
They shared some laughs…They canoodled on the couch…
Then he spit up all over.

Then they played on the floor, where they briefly held hands.

And apparently the date wore him out…

she loves singing!

I’m the first to admit that I have a terrible voice. I can’t carry a tune and I always sing the wrong words. I’m probably worse than the worst rejects on American Idol… But my daughter doesn’t know any better and she loves being sung to. When she is fussy in the car and I can’t pick her up, all I need to do is sing the beginning words to her favorite song (the wheels on the bus, accompanied with hand motions, of course) and she is instantly consoled. Who woulda thought?!

i’m not sure how i feel about this.

Like all babies this age, Finley is constantly sucking on her hands and putting everything in her mouth. We wondered if this was the beginning signs of teething, but everyone told us it was a little premature. About a week ago, I thought I felt a little nub on her bottom gums. Sure enough this nub has grown and now broken through! You can see a little white tooth. In a few months I would definitely find this adorable, but I’m not sure how I feel about my 3 1/2 month old sporting a sharp tooth. She is still our little baby. Big girls have teeth, not little tiny infants. At least she’s handled the pain well. We’ve had a few fussy moments, but nothing unmanageable. She’s finding relief in frozen binkies, cold wash clothes and nearby (clean) fingers to chew on. Hopefully the rest of her teeth come in this easily…but I’ve heard the worst is yet to come… frozen binkies

bubbles

Last week Finley learned a new skill…blowing bubbles! Minus the excessive drool, we think it’s pretty funny. This is one of the first things that I’ve noticed her mimicing (besides smiling of course). When we make the sound first, she’ll start doing it. I know this is something all babies eventually learn, but I’m still amazed she’s learning to repeat sounds and use her mouth! We watched Finley playing in her exersaucer last night and marveled at how much she’s learned and grown in only 3 1/2 months!
